 2016 Preview 


       Last year Good Hope finished seventh in Class 4A region 7 with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Good Hope has gone a combined 19-42. Their 31.0% winning percentage ranks 48th in Class 4A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Good Hope has managed to compile a record of 133-136. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 33rd in Class 4A and 198th in the AHSAA.

       The Raiders are led by head coach Alan Scott who is entering his first season at the helm. His team finished with a 3-7 record in his first season at Good Hope. The Raiders have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Scott.

       Coach Scott's overall record as a head football coach in five seasons stands at 21-30 (41.2%). Over the course of his career, Coach Scott's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times .

      

      The Good Hope Raiders will play in Class 4A region 6 during the 2016 season. Following realignment, the Raiders remain in 4A but move from region 7 over to region 6.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Raiders if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in Region 6 this season.

       The Raiders open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Vinemont on Thursday, August 25 at James W. Shabel Stadium. Last year the Vinemont Eagles finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in sixth place in Class 3A region 5. The closed out the regular season with a loss to Fairview by a score of 49-20.

       Good Hope and Vinemont have met a total of 48 times on the football field. The Raiders have a 32-16-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2022 with Good Hope winning by a score of 34-22.
